The streets and youth centers of the GDZ are alive with creativity, energy, and celebration
A New-Orleans style puppet-parade down Massachusetts Avenue organized by the Wash Project. An open mike at the Center@271 Grant. A luau in the Mass Ave Park. Bike repair sessions on the sidewalk. Block parties. Flea markets. A Youth-run farmstand. A rollicking winter festival.
The GDZ is filled with young people, and their energy and creativity rock the neighborhood. There are events year-round in the Zone’s Streets, Parks, and Community Centers, and young people are always taking the lead role in making things happen.
